Look out Rachel Ray!!!

So I was sooo motivated by Hilary to make her wonderful amazing Dill Bean Soup. After working in the temple thursday mornings, my mom and I go visit Hilary and one day she had made this soup and gave us some. Its soooo good! (I do believe she put the recipe on her blog) Anyway, so this was my first attempt to actually make something from scratch.

I was so proud of myself that it actually came out right. It took a couple hours but I had fun.

The Rockies!!!

So this year we splurged and got half-season tickets to the Rockies. We got seats together with Hilary and Evan, that way Hilary and I could talk the whole time while our husbands watched the games. I love going to the games but I think I have ADD so Hilary was a "must have" for me to agree to go to 25 games. It was soooo much fun.

These are pictures from opening day. They let a ton of balloons go that was pretty cool and they had army jets fly by really low above the stadium.
Aarons eyes, of coarse, were on the game.

The Season finale! Sorry we didnt take a ton of pics thoughout the season but we sure had a lot of fun and I will admit I learned a lot about baseball. Like, its called extra innings and not overtime. But I do believe I was just really tired the time I said that.

Here are all the people lined up to watch the fireworks. Which I must say, were THE BEST fireworks I have ever seen. And poor little Aaron missed it because he had school. :-(

Here is a little video of the grand finale. (My memory was full on my camera so its really short.)

Remodeling the house

So back in August Aaron started to remodel our house. Here are the before pics of our lovely kitchen and dining area. (notice how small the kitchen is)

He tore down half a wall in our kitchen where the fridge use to be against and he rewired the lighting to put can lights in the kitchen and dinning area. This is the mess he made. Can you imagine living in this??? Lets just say we ate out way too much.

This is him cutting holes in our ceiling for the can lights. Isn't he cute?

This one shows the lighting done but he still has the patch work to do.

You can see the wall he tore out is all nice and pretty now. The next project was the hardwood floors.
Aaron got about 1/3 of the way done with the floor the weekend before the water damage came. (see "The Roofers!!!!" entry in August)

These are the semi-after pictures. He still has some drywall touch ups and painting to do but doesn't it look soooooo nice? We have a ton more room, our kitchen isn't a single butt kitchen anymore. :-)

He is still not finished with the harwood but i will put them up as soon as its done.

Helloooo NEW YORK!!!

So my aunt Terri called my mom up and said she found a great deal on tickets and a hotel to go to New York and asked her if we wanted to go. The deal was soooo great we couldn't say no. We left on a red eye flight friday night Sept. 5th. After maybe getting two hours of sleep we arrived at about 5:30 am New York time. We took the air train and the subway to our hotel in Time Square, but check in wasn't until 3:00pm so, we started the adventure.

1st stop: China town- canal street- shopping!!

(My cousin Jessica and I)

2nd stop: Statue of Liberty
We didnt take the fairy to actually go up to it. After no sleep and walking a ton, being on water didnt sound tooo exciting. And you have to leave somethings so you have a reason to go back right?
(My mom and aunt Terri)

Finally around 3 we got to the hotel and slept for about 5 hours. (much needed) Then we went our on the town in Time Square. It was soooo pretty. A ton of lights!!!!

My mom and I in front of the Hersey's Factory.

Sunday morning we got up and went to the Temple by Central Park. We planned on going to the ward in the church building underneith the temple but it was all closed for renovation. :-( But it had 3 other church buildings listed that we could go to so we went to another one. While we were sitting in the chapel waiting, Mitt Romney walked in! He was there visiting his sons family that blessed there baby that day. So that was pretty neat.

After church we walked around Central park and then went to the Impire State Building. Over all it was a lot of walking but we had sooooo much fun.

5 months!!

Well, its starting to get in the way of things. Cutting hair- it gets in the way when I am washing clients hair in the sink and reaching for shampoos, I definitely cant button my pants anymore, sleeping is interesting and when Aaron gives me his nice bear hugs, its not so nice anymore. I can only imagine how much it will get in the way in a few more months. BUT....
I love being pregnant. It is such a miracle. I have been feeling it kick and move around. Its soo exciting! I cant wait for it to get bigger so Aaron can feel it kick.

The Roofers!!!!!

So last week they started putting new roofs on our townhomes. You would think with chances of thunderstorms all week they would be careful and have some tarps laying around right? Wrong! Wednesday night it poured!!!! and well 9 units had water damage. Including ours :-(

Luckily Aaron had started doing the hardwood floors in the front room so almost everything was moved to the garage and the drips in our bedroom missed our stuff so the damage was just the warped hard wood that Aaron just put in and the carpets.

The roofers only took off one side of the roof on my house so it was dry in the other bedroom so they had to stuff everything in there.

We had to stay in a hotel for 5 days!!! I was sooo sick of not having any structure and eating like crap that I cleaned and organized the spare room so we could at least be home and have a kitchen. Oh and the insurance company from the roofers just came yesterday so we are going to live in craziness for a while. :-(
